Kristian Bartlett appointed Head of Sales and Distribution

IIGL are pleased to announce the appointment of Kristian Bartlett as its new head of sales and distribution.

Kristian, previously the broker relationship manager for three years at Arch, will be responsible for growing our distribution footprint regionally.

Meet our newly appointed Head of Sales & Distribution:

It is great to join such an established, well-respected business as IIGL and have the opportunity to work alongside the co-founders, Lyndsey Thompson and Dean Surridge to drive business forward.

My 25-year+ career in insurance began in 1999, when I started as an Insurance Consultant for Direct Line, based out of the old Colmore Row office in Birmingham.

Later, I took on a leadership role at Markerstudy Retail, where I served as Sales Manager for both the Commercial Vehicle department of The Insurance Factory and catering specialist, Mobilers.

In 2015, with 16 years of experience under my belt, I was appointed as Head of Sales & Marketing at Commercial Express. I spent the next 7 years as a key member of the Senior Management Team, responsible for broker development across the UK and marketing of the MGA. I worked with insurers, brokers, and my teams to promote the value-added service proposition, securing strategic broker partnerships and consistently delivering profitable growth.

I was then appointed Broker Relationship Development Manager at global insurer Arch, where I was responsible for managing and developing key accounts across the Midlands region. I built a strong reputation for driving trade and service across the Birmingham market.

After three years of driving double-digit growth across the Midlands region, I was attracted to the opportunity of joining the Avid Group. I took on the national role of Head of Sales & Distribution for IIGL and am now responsible for growing Avid’s distribution footprint, especially in its construction business, IIGL.

I have also been tasked with designing and implementing a strategy to grow the business throughout the regions, driving visibility for IIGL and Avid in the broking market, and identifying cross-sell opportunities among existing and new trading partners. This is a fantastic opportunity for me personally, and I’m excited to be back in the MGA sector after three years in the composite world. IIGL is a highly successful construction specialist with plenty of scope for further profitable growth.

Outside of insurance, I am kept busy by chauffeuring my kids to many a sports club and taking the dog on his daily walks. I love to travel far and wide and support the Villa at every opportunity.
